The Pirate Bay co-founder has been arrested in Cambodia and is facing deportation at the request of the Swedish government. Although Cambodia is a non-extradite country it seems an agreement has been made to deport Gottfrid Svartholm to face charges of copyright infringement.
He has been living in Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh. It is not clear whether he will be transported to Sweden directly.
Pirate Bay is one of the most popular file-sharing sites in the world. Despite numerous attempts to bring it down, the Pirate Bay is up and running, frequently out-doing the injunctions brought against the site and finding loopholes to stay active where similar sites have been shut-down or just gave up.
Not date has been set for his deportation.
