It will come as no surprise that the Apple retail stores are very popular, but the figures are astonishing , since they have only 375 stores, two of which were recently open in Canada. The Loop reports that in the fiscal calendar year of 2012 which starts in October 11– about 300 million people in the world visit Apple stores.
That is roughly 800,000 people per Apple store annually, which amounts to about 2,000 people per day. Obviously, some stores are more popular than others, but that just puts it into perspective.
The retail stores are a big draw for Apple and a sales point, perhaps it will encourage other competitive businesses to open high-end stores internationally like.. lets say Amazon. There were reports earlier in the year that Amazon was opening a flagship retail store in Seattle, Washington, however, there are no follow-ups as to whether this has come to fruition.
