Google is in the tablet business, and they are going after the Kindle Fire market share with a low-end tablet starting at $200. The Nexus 7 from Asus is going to use Android 4.1 OS aka ‘Jellybean’.
The Nexus 7 comes in a 7 inch high def display starting at $199 for 8GB and the 16gb at $249. The 4325 mAh battery will provide about 7-8 hours of use.
The release of the Kindle Fire 2 is imminent and this Nexus 7 could pose a big threat to Amazon’s lead in the low-end/affordable tablet market. Apple doesn’t need to worry- this isn’t an iPad killer.
Kindle Fire 2 is expected to be released around July.
The Nexus 7 boost that the Jellybean OS declared a war with lag, so you can expect this tablet to run smoothly- which is great for games. It is the first 7 inch tablet with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor.
I think this tablet is going to be a huge hit for Google, it looks great, it’s affordable and is packing a punch with the quad-core. Watch out Amazon, the Kindle 2 better blow us away.
