A Blood Test For Depression

The stigma attached to mental illness is tough for anyone that suffers from it. Most, if not all mental illnesses don’t have a biological test to validate the illness which increases the negative stigma.

Now, a blood test can be used as a diagnostic tool, to help determine if a patient suffers from depression on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being the strongest likelihood for depression.

“Everybody’s telling them it’s in their head, meaning they’re making it up. There’s nothing really wrong. If they’d just pull themselves up by their boot straps, they’d be fine,” says Dr. Wilson.

For the first time depression can be revealed on a test proving the illness is real for the skeptics- a person anonymously named Jane, said it helped her confirm what see already knew, and it is something she can show her family.
