Just finished an episode of Mad Men on my laptop, then I log on to my Facebook to find out Mark Zuckerberg just got married to his long-time girlfriend Priscilla Chan, on the 19th of May this month.
Mark Zuckerberg added the news to his life events page on Facebook. There’s is going to be a lot of talk about him getting a pre-nup, and so forth in the coming days, no doubt. It’s been a good month for Mark Zuckerberg, his eight year old company goes public and he marries the love of his life.
And no, he did not wear a hoodie! From the wedding picture above he wore a suit for the special occasion. The 20 billion dollar man has a lot to smile about, and needs to keep focused & keep shipping. Going public is just the beginning for the huge social network.
Just this Thursday, Facebook set their IPO at $38 dollars, it jumped to around $42 dollars during trading and closed at abbout $38.20. It didn’t have the 20-30 percent jump we have seen with the recent tech IPO’s, and there has been an uproar that Facebook is overvalued. The underwriters and their clients probably didn’t make the quick buck they were hoping for but, closing at the offering price is not bad for Facebook.
Facebook’s main task ahead, is getting revenue from their mobile traffic and expanding their advertising without comprimising the user experience.
Update: Mark didn’t invite his 13 million plus Facebook friends, sources say it was a small event of about 100 people, and he gave her a ruby ring he designed himself.
